Privacy Policy

Oryn does not collect anything. There is no account to make, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party code in the app. Your photos and videos never leave your phone. The rest of this page is the detail behind that sentence.

Last updated 11 September 2026 · Oryn 1.0 · Sama Digital Innovation LLC

The short version. Oryn collects no personal data of any kind. It asks for one permission — your photo library — and uses it for one thing: showing your own photos and videos to you, on your own screen. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is tracked, and nothing is shared with anyone, including us.

Who we are

Oryn is made and published by Sama Digital Innovation LLC, a company registered in the United Arab Emirates. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Sama Digital Innovation LLC, and "the app" means Oryn for iPhone and iPad.

For anything in this policy you can reach a person at sar2@live.com.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not collect, receive, store, process, sell, rent or share any personal data about you. We have no servers that your copy of Oryn talks to, so there is no place for your data to arrive even if we wanted it.

Specifically, Oryn contains:

  • no user accounts, logins or profiles;
  • no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage measurement;
  • no advertising and no advertising identifiers;
  • no tracking across apps or websites, and no data brokers;
  • no third-party SDKs, frameworks or libraries of any kind.

Because nothing is collected, there is nothing for us to disclose, nothing to sell, and nothing that could be exposed in a breach of our systems.

The photo library permission

Oryn asks iOS for access to your photo library. That permission is used for one purpose: to read the photos and videos already on your device so that the app can display them to you.

  • Your media is read directly from Apple's Photos framework on the device, and displayed. It is never uploaded, transmitted or backed up by us.
  • Oryn does not make its own copy of your photos or videos.
  • Oryn does not read the location information stored inside your photos, and never requests location access.
  • Oryn will not fetch media that lives only in iCloud and not on the device, so using the app does not pull your library down over the network.

You can review or withdraw this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos on your device. Withdrawing it stops Oryn being able to show you anything; it has no other effect.

What is stored on your device

A small amount of information is written to Oryn's own private storage area on your phone. It stays on the phone, and we never see it.

  • Favourites — which items you marked.
  • Arrangement — how you like the grid laid out, and any folders you made in Moments.

Both are deleted along with everything else in the app's container when you delete Oryn from your device.

Two further values are kept in the iOS keychain: the date your free trial started and whether you have bought the unlock. These are deliberately kept in the keychain because the keychain survives deleting and reinstalling an app. That means reinstalling Oryn does not restart your free trial, and a purchase you have already paid for is not forgotten. Neither value identifies you, and neither leaves the device.

Network use

Oryn makes no network requests except to Apple's App Store, and only in connection with the in-app purchase: to ask what the price is in your currency, to complete a purchase you chose to make, and to check whether you have already bought it.

That exchange is handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit on your device. We do not operate any part of it. Oryn never sees your name, your Apple Account, your email address or your payment details — Apple does not give them to us, and the app has nowhere to send them.

Every other feature of Oryn works with the device in Airplane Mode. If you never open the purchase screen, Oryn makes no network connections at all.

Your purchase itself is a transaction with Apple, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by this one.

Children

Oryn is rated 4+ and contains no content of its own — it shows only what is already in the device's photo library. It collects no data from anyone, of any age. It is not directed at children specifically, and it contains no advertising, no purchasable randomness, no messaging and no links out to the open web.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over personal data that a company holds about you — to see it, correct it, export it, or have it deleted.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to show, correct, export or delete. If you would like that confirmed in writing for your own records, email sar2@live.com and we will reply.

The data described under "What is stored on your device" is under your control, not ours: deleting the app removes it.

Changes to this policy

If Oryn ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top, and the change will be described in the app's release notes on the App Store. We will not begin collecting data that this policy says we do not collect without saying so plainly and in advance.
